Job Description:
As a senior position in the Financial Team, and under the leadership of the Finance Manager, The Finance Assistant Manager is responsible for all areas relating to accounting and finance, including closing, all financial reporting, and budget management. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions and statements. This position addresses tight deadlines, and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, budget and forecast activities, cost reduction analysis, and reviewing operational performance. This position is a management level position, with cross functional ties to both administrative and operational departments, where relationships and communications are a key function.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day financial operations within the company

Assist management of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements, reports and analysis

Work with the Finance Manager for financial reporting, management reporting, and variance analysis

Oversight on costing and analysis

Assist with developing and maintaining accounting rules for the company

Prepare and maintain documentation for policy and procedures and audit compliance

Assist with developing and maintaining all company budgetary related items
-
Investigate ways to improve profitability, and analyze markets for business opportunities

Communicate applicable financial and profit information to appropriate staff/departments

Update and manage business plan according to the latest customer forecasts and Senior Management direction

Oversight on fixed asset management

Assist with managing treasury responsiblities

Oversee preparation of documentation for board of directors meetings
-
Assist with management of requests for financing or loan from headquarters in Japan

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workships; reviewing professional publication, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies

Ensure that team members are treated with respect and encourages an atmosphere of openness and fairness at all times

Communicate company programs and practices and communicates to team in a timely manner

Identify performance gaps and take action to improve through remedial training, self-development or otherwise

Takes direction comfortably, able to multi-task, managing time efficiently to obtain optimum results

Other duties as required
Qualifications:
-
3-5 years financial experience with focus on financial reporting and budgeting in a manufacturing environment

3-5 years management experience with direct reports in accounting and financial areas
-
CPA designation or equivalent designation required

Strong knowledge of finance, financial methods, budget, tools, and strategies

Excellent communication, presentation, meeting facilitiation and interpersonal skills
-
Team building and team leadership with experience
-
Strong morals and ethics, along with commitment to confidentiality

Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Powerpoint, Quickbooks, SAP and email
-
Expert knowledge of Excel and experience with budgeting tools

Attention to detail in all areas of work
