And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

The potential for error is high in an environment where speed is critical. Companies looking for local and global deals face strong competition for quality assets and stakeholder scrutiny regarding acquisitions. M&A success starts with comprehensive diligence, it's the only way to understand if the deal is the right decision at the right price.

The opportunity

As a Data Analytics Manager, you'll be right at the heart of the action. Data Analytics provides business, financial and accounting due diligence services in connection with mergers and acquisitions (M&A), divestitures, carve-outs and other transformational events by leveraging data in an increasingly complex world. As a member of our team, you'll help to provide strategic counsel to corporate and private equity leaders. You'll have direct access to strategists and decision makers, operating executives, managing directors, chief financial officers and corporate development officers.

In this role, you will acquire some of the most "in demand" skills across M&A, analytics, finance, and accounting in the marketplace today, learning from talented colleagues on challenging assignments. You will lead analytics driven financial due diligence on a blend of buy-side and sell-side engagements.

You'll be analyzing large and complex datasets and building sophisticated transaction driven analysis to help address our client's challenges in fast-changing markets. You'll be expected to present your findings in a way that's easily understood by M&A and business professionals at all levels. No two clients are the same, and since you'll be involved across multiple projects, you'll find your work varies from day to day. Whichever industry or project you're working on, we'll support you in using your analytics, finance and accounting skills to their full potential.

To qualify for the role you must have

Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing and implementing advanced analytics solutions.
Bachelor degree in finance, accounting, analytics, operations research, statistics, mathematics, or related data science or finance / economics with relevant work experience
Excellent analytical and project management skills, including the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights
Communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt styles depending on the stakeholder
Demonstratable experience building data models and use of analytics tools/applications for more advanced use cases (i.e., above and beyond ETL projects)
The ability to prioritize effectively on projects and the skills to adapt quickly to new challenges and concepts.

Ideally, you'll also have

Master's degree, CPA or CFA preferred
Experience working in a fast-paced mergers and acquisitions environment
Experience analyzing financial statements and key drivers of financial performance
Communicable experience with a subset of advanced analytical methods, such as statistical pricing studies, customer lifetime value analyses, customer persistency/retention analyses, geospatial analyses, statistical clustering analyses, etc.
Industry experience in healthcare, retail / consumer products, life sciences, SAAS/technology, financial services and/or insurance a plus.
Familiarity with a subset of analytics tools/applications including:
Data Management (Alteryx, Hadoop, SQL, etc.)
Data Visualization (PowerBI, Tableau, Spotfire, etc.)
Programming languages (Python, R, etc.)
Analytics Platforms (Databricks, Azure, etc.)
