Manager, Line Maintenance YTZ

The Manager, Line Maintenance YTZ, is responsible for establishing adequate team member levels, support, and engagement at all stations where Porter conducts its own maintenance. This position involves organizing main base crews, main base shops, and outstation AMEs from three TC recognized scopes (M: Maintenance, E: Avionics, and S: Structures) to ensure the correct skill set is available for planned and unplanned work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that recognized standards of work are carried out by all personnel under their supervision.

Coordinate and supervise the inspection and rectification of unserviceable aircraft and components including repair, modification, overhaul, and alteration.

Ensure that maintenance records are correctly completed with respect to overall maintenance functions.

Ensure that all planned and unplanned work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with TC regulations.

Responsible for technical liaison with all operating departments.

Ensure that Maintenance Personnel under their authority have the necessary equipment, facilities, and training required to properly accomplish their duties in support of maintenance activities on aircraft and aeronautical products.

Utilization of the Safety Management System [SMS] reporting program and adherence to the Safety Policy.

May assume responsibilities of the Director, Maintenance in the Director’s absence.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-secondary education

Minimum 5 years of experience in managing technicians

Transport Canada issued AME M2, E or S license

DHC-8-Q400 endorsement is an asset

Well organized, detail oriented and able to work autonomously

Proven self-starter with good time management skills and able to multi-task

Able to obtain airside security clearance

No criminal record as per TC CARs

Valid G driver’s licence (or out of province equivalent)

Knowledge of RAAS (Remote Access Aviation System) an asset
