A well established printing company is looking for an experienced bindery operator who is responsible for setting up and operating bindery equipment, which is used to finish printed materials by cutting, folding, punching, and binding them.
The ideal candidate takes great pride in their work. Must be reliable and complete tasks with minimal supervision. This individual displays an outstanding work ethic and pays close attention to minor details. Consistently deliver results that meet high quality standards.
Main Duties include:
- Reading and interpreting work orders and job specifications to determine the appropriate bindery equipment and settings to use
- Setting up and adjusting bindery equipment, including paper cutters, folding machines, punches, and binding machines
- Operating bindery equipment to cut, fold, punch, and bind printed materials according to job specifications
- Maintaining accurate production records and tracking job progress
- Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
- Maintaining bindery equipment and keeping it clean and in good working order
- Providing support to other team members
- Assisting with the setup and operation of other print production equipment as needed
Qualifications
- Bindery production experience (or similar manufacturing environment)
- Problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform quick and accurate mental calculations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
