Business Development Specialist - Blowers & Low Pressure Compressors

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Specialist (BDS) - Blowers and Low Pressure Compressors. This position is reporting to the Product and Business Development Manager (BDM) - Blowers and Low Pressure Compressors and will be based in Saint-Laurent, QC. The selected candidate will cover blowers and low-pressure products in Canada. The business segments will focus on municipal, OEM, and distributors' accounts.


  • Develop, lead and handle the Prime Equipment sales business for the Oil-free Division’s Blowers and Low Pressure Compressors
  • Analyze the needs and expectations per region within the territory and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Communicate daily with the local partners in the territory to provide the necessary technical and commercial support;
  • In collaboration with the BDM, develop and execute marketing and communication plans including but not limited to lunch and learns, trade shows, customer events
  • Evaluate and exploit the potential with existing OEM partners
  • Attend local and regional trade shows and events to showcase the organization’s products, services and to support the local partners;
  • Increase market share in the assigned territory through an efficient sales process and increased market coverage;
  • In alignment with the blowers and low pressure compressors, exploit other possible sales opportunities for Atlas Copco products.
  • Manage the day to day sales activities and planning through the common CRM tool;
  • Develop and maintain an adequate pipeline to ensure projected sales targets are met and exceeded
  • Take the commercial lead from RFP, proposals submitted all the way to order; and lead project kickoff meetings with assigned project engineer(s)
  • Ensure that related sales targets are met (unit sales, revenue generation, premium price realization)
  • Travel as necessary to achieve the objectives of this position
  • Ensure that the right technology is set forward for the process application as early as possible in the lifecycle of the project;
  • Work closely with the BDM and engineering team to compile adequate, competitive and on-time proposals;
  • Prepare return on investment analysis on proposed technology versus current customer product or other technology

  • Proven experience in sales of industrial equipment within municipal environment with the ability to close orders and maintain sustainable business objectives;
  • Experience in the water treatment industry, its applications and cooperation with agents and consultants is an asset;
  • Experience with air compressors, blowers and low-pressure compressors;
  • Good understanding of, and experience implementing, sales territory management;
  • Experience with handling requests for quotes & municipal bids and cooperating closely with back-office engineering and product management team;

Education & Knowledge:

  • An engineering degree (preferable) or equivalent on-the-job experience;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to make technical presentations;
  • Computer savvy (Windows 365, CRM, equipment sizing, Microsoft Office, etc.);
  • Solid language skills both in English & French
