Overview
The Housing Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations and management of housing centre, emergency shelter, and other housing facilities. This position is responsible for ensuring that all housing programs are effectively administered, providing a safe and welcoming environment for residents. The Housing Manager will work closely with staff, residents, and community partners to enhance the quality of housing services offered.
Duties
- Oversee daily operations of housing facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
- Develop and manage budgets for housing programs, ensuring financial sustainability.
- Supervise staff, providing guidance and support to promote a positive work environment.
- Implement program management strategies to enhance service delivery and resident satisfaction.
- Conduct regular inspections of housing units to ensure maintenance and safety standards are met.
- Address resident concerns and complaints in a timely manner, fostering strong community relations.
- Collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders to promote housing initiatives and resources.
- Maintain accurate administrative records related to housing operations, including occupancy rates and maintenance requests.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in budgeting, program management, or administrative roles within the housing sector or related fields.
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on customer service.
- Knowledge of housing regulations and best practices is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using software applications related to property management and reporting.
