POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports and implements supply base strategy for Hanon Systems assigned commodities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Works with the Strategic Commodity Manager and implements the global commodity strategies on a divisional level.
2. Assists in the development and implementation of the commodity strategy in assigned commodities.
3. Evaluates supplier quotations to obtain the best overall purchase on behalf of the company.
4. Manages RFQ’s to the supply base according to the commodity strategy to support programs (current and new
5. Evaluates supplier cost structure to obtain best overall value on behalf of the Company.
6. Award purchase orders within the framework of the strategic commodity plan for current business and/or re-sourcing; following the purchasing process guidelines and policies.
7. Establish supplier Long Term Agreements and supplier giveback terms for current and/or resourcing business.
8. Establish supplier credit terms and the completion of credit applications.
9. Report out market impact on components/materials and key indicators to suppliers health regularly at regional level.
10. Collect and report purchasing related information to global commodity leads, regional purchasing, etc.
11. Keeps management informed on commercial issues through communications; aids and assists the department with reports, presentations etc.
12. Utilizes a total cost approach to optimizing piece prices for assign commodities, tactics to include but not limited to bundling, global sourcing, multiple sources/competition, specification changes, process optimization, value analysis/value engineering, logistics, and payment term improvement.
13. Works with a cross-functional team in support of the assigned commodities, including Program Management, Engineering, Production Control and Logistics, Supplier Quality Development and Quality departments.
14. Coordinates supplier development, consolidation and reduction programs..
15. Leads divisional cost savings initiatives with negotiation, alternate sourcing strategies and qualifying potential suppliers.
16. Within a given commodity, assure purchasing leveraging is optimized by providing oversight of the consolidated buy for all the Groups.
17. Practices and maintains integrity in all business dealings.
18. Creates a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional and technical knowledge.
19. Performs all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules.
20. Follow the guidelines and rules as set out by the Employee’s handbook and Company policies and procedures.
21. Complies with the designated ISO 14001 responsibilities related to effective management in accordance with Hanon’s Environmental Management System (EMS).
22. Performs tasks and responsibilities detailed in the IATF/TS16949 policies, procedures and work instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 2-3 years experience in Purchasing or related field within a manufacturing facility. Relevant experience within the automotive industry is preferred.
2. Bachelors degree required; emphasis on business or technical expertise preferred..
3. Proven skills and experience in contract negotiation and price negotiation in a manufacturing environment.
4. Strategic thinker and implementer of effective tactful plans.
5. Ability to assign the highest priority to customer satisfaction while meeting commitments to achieve business objectives.
6. Ability to perform function with a sense of purpose and high degree of urgency.

Pay: $60,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
