Position Summary
The Warehouse Operator plays a key role in supporting daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and material handling. The successful candidate will operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently while ensuring accurate inventory control and timely movement of goods throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with company safety standards.
- Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against shipping documentation.
- Conduct inventory counts and assist with inventory control procedures.
- Move, organize, and store materials within designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain accurate warehouse records and documentation.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report any maintenance concerns.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities as required.
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness and organization at all times.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure operational efficiency.
- Support special projects and other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A valid forklift certification/license (required).
- Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
- Experience operating counterbalance, reach truck, order picker, or other material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills and experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and company policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Working Conditions
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
- Frequent operation of forklifts and warehouse equipment.
- Fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Overtime may be required during peak periods.
- Exposure to varying warehouse temperatures depending on the season and facility.
