- U.S. retail energy brokerage
- Commercial water-conservation technology
- Artificial intelligence for telemarketing and customer acquisition

These are different businesses with different economics, risks and opportunities.

The Mandate
You will have operating responsibility for a diversified Group generating approximately $200 million in annual revenue.
You will be accountable for four things:
- Sales performance
- Financial performance
- Operational execution
- Leadership performance
Results matter. Explanations do not replace them.
Sales Performance
You must understand how each division creates revenue, acquires customers and retains business.
You will:
- Challenge pipelines, forecasts, conversion rates and customer-acquisition costs
- Hold sales leaders accountable for activity, productivity, margin and results
- Identify where revenue is leaking and correct it
- Improve sales execution across direct sales, brokerage, SaaS and technology businesses
- Separate genuine opportunity from optimism, excuses and inflated forecasts
- Ensure growth produces profit, not just volume
You do not need to be the chief salesperson.
You must know whether the sales organization is performing, why it is or is not performing, and what must change.
Financial Command
You must be able to run the business through its financial and operating numbers.
You will:
- Understand revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, cash flow and working capital by division
- Challenge budgets, forecasts, assumptions and variances
- Identify unprofitable products, customers, channels and activities
- Decide where capital and management attention should be deployed
- Translate financial information into operating decisions
- Refuse to accept reports that explain what happened without explaining why
This role requires financial judgment.
You cannot depend on the finance department to interpret the business for you.
Operational Mastery and Solutions Leadership
We are a sales and solutions business.
We solve problems others cannot or will not solve.
You will:
- Build disciplined, scalable workflows across multiple businesses
- Go to where the work happens and observe it directly
- Use an Ohno Circle mindset: stop, watch, question and understand before acting
- Separate symptoms from root causes
- Remove bottlenecks, weak handoffs, duplicated effort and recurring failure points
- Improve productivity, customer experience, sales performance and margin
- Challenge “that is how we have always done it”
- Take ownership when responsibility is unclear
- Intervene personally when the problem is too important to delegate
- Build leaders who bring solutions, not explanations
- Know when to fix, replace, redesign, automate, invest or stop
You must be a gifted solutions leader.
You must be able to enter an unfamiliar situation, understand how the work actually flows, identify what is broken and lead the organization to a result.
You will not be judged by how well you describe obstacles.
You will be judged by whether you remove them.
No excuses. Just results.
Executive Judgment and People Leadership
Numbers tell part of the story. People tell the rest, often without saying it directly.
You must be able to:
- Read the room
- Recognize what is not being said
- Detect resistance, avoidance, uncertainty and concealed disagreement
- Understand body language, tone and behaviour
- Know when a leader is struggling before the results fully expose it
- Ask questions that uncover the real issue, not the prepared answer
- Adapt your approach without lowering expectations
- Build trust without avoiding accountability
- Distinguish confidence from capability and loyalty from performance
We believe in direct, respectful leadership.
We address problems early.
We do not allow politeness to become avoidance.
We have the difficult conversations when they are necessary. We do so respectfully, clearly and with the expectation that behaviour and performance will improve.
This is not about being harsh.
It is about being honest enough to deal with what others avoid.
You must know when to listen, when to challenge and when to decide.
Do Not Apply Unless
- You have carried direct responsibility for revenue, profitability and operations
- You have led sales-driven organizations
- You can dissect a P&L and identify what is driving or destroying performance
- You have built systems, teams and processes rather than simply inherited them
- You have improved sales, margin, profitability or execution in measurable terms
- You have developed strong leaders and confronted weak performance
- You can read people as effectively as you read financial reports
- You are comfortable making difficult personnel, investment and strategic decisions
- You are prepared to be personally accountable for results
A strategist without operating depth will fail here.
A financial executive without sales instincts will fail here.
A sales leader without financial discipline will fail here.
