Responsibilities
- Engage with prospective students through public speaking engagements, campus tours, and informational sessions to promote the institution’s programs and values
- Conduct interviews and counseling sessions to assess applicants’ interests, academic background, and goals, providing tailored guidance on admissions requirements
- Utilize Ellucian (a widely-used higher education management software) to manage applicant data, track communications, and streamline the admissions workflow
- Lead recruiting efforts by developing outreach strategies, participating in college fairs, and building relationships with high schools and community organizations
- Collaborate with teaching staff and academic departments to ensure applicants receive accurate information about programs and prerequisites
- Maintain detailed records of applicant interactions, decisions, and follow-up actions to ensure a smooth admissions process
- Stay informed about institutional policies, admission criteria, and industry best practices to provide transparent and consistent guidance
Skills
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to confidently present information to diverse audiences
- Experience with Ellucian or similar student information systems for data management and reporting
- Proven recruiting skills with a proactive approach to outreach and relationship-building
- Background in teaching or educational advising enhances ability to communicate complex information clearly
