We are presently seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team. The incumbent is responsible for the financial analysis and reporting to support the operations, R&D team and Corporate GP&A. He must ensure the execution of all tasks assigned. He should prepare appropriate documentation for external clients such as government and auditors. He will also be responsible for performing other related duties.
Your Responsibilities:
Research and development expenses
Managing & executing month-end and quarter-end close processes for the R&D expenses
Providing financial guidance and support on various R&D projects to R&D team
Performing annual budgeting and monthly forecasting with variance analysis
Develop, perform in depth analysis and communicate periodic variance to management
Compiling required data for R&D tax credits, yearly
Preparing year-end files for external auditors and completing questionnaires from Statistic Canada.
Financial analysis, forecast and budget
Work closely with the Central Accounting and operation team to ensure expenses are booked appropriately and are aligned with plan
Analyze the monthly financial expenses for other departments compared to the latest forecast, close follow ups with different departments managers to help them meet their financial targets, explain the main variances to Corporate FP&A
Manage revenue recognition schedules including calculating monthly revenue assessing estimated cost to complete.
Support allocation processes to allocate functional expenses to different cost centers and product line P&L
Perform budgeting of expenses for all departments.
Perform monthly forecast: depreciation, capital expenditure, functional spending for all department.
Support the tax team by completing: transfer pricing testing, quarterly tax provision, royalty expenses and withholding tax.
Upload the financial forecast data into Hyperion Financial Planning (HFP)
Other Tasks & requirement
Manage annual financial audits (external firm & government)
Participate in the annual overhead rates calculation
Involve in learning the new system CFIN S4/HANA and manage GL master data between SAP-CFIN-HFP
Complete the weekly cash forecast for Corporate Treasury department.
Participate in special projects
Your Qualifications:
Skills and technical knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA title preferred
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Experience in the manufacturing sector is an asset.
Knowledge of MS office software.
Advanced knowledge of Excel software.
Knowledge of SAP is an important asset.
Communication & interpersonal skills:
Fluency in French & English both spoken and written.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, timely, and targeted messages.
Demonstrate interpersonal influence and leadership to schedule, manage, and evaluate projects through, and with, internal functional groups.
