Job description
Floral designers create arrangements of flowers that are typically purchased by customers for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and funerals.
We are looking to hire a creative Florist Assistant to help with day to day operationsfrom processing new flowers to maintaining and cleaning flowers in the cooler along with greating customersand assisting them.
The florist assistant responsibilities include advising customers on suitable floral arrangement selections, wrapping completed floral arrangements, packing and organizing deliveries, answering calls and taking orders from customers over the phone and ensuring that the floral shop is clean and well-organized.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that flowers are properly watered and stored to prevent wilting.
- Selecting and arranging flowers and decorative items to create standard and customized floral arrangements.
- Serving in-store customers and processing payments.
- Maintaining an adequate supply of decorative supplies.
- Maintaining an accurate record of floral arrangement orders, special requests, and delivery information.
- Advising customers on the proper care and maintenance of their selected floral arrangements , plants and dish gardens.
- Consulting with clients to determine their preferences and specifications before designing customized floral arrangements.
Job Requirements:.
- High school diploma or GED is advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of different flower types, arrangement styles, and flower conditioning.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Artistic and creative.
- Detail-oriented.
Job Types: Part-time, Fly-In/Fly-Out, Casual
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16.0 – 32.0 per week
