Join Edmonton's fastest growing and most recognized law firm. We are expanding our civil litigation and personal injury practice and are looking to add an Associate Lawyer to the team. We are primarily looking for a lawyer with civil litigation experience. Depending on your experience, you will carry your own files, appear regularly before the Alberta Court of Justice and the Court of King's Bench, and take matters from first client meeting through to resolution or trial. Having your own book of business is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of civil litigation files from intake through settlement, questioning, or trial
- Appear before the Alberta Court of Justice and the Court of King's Bench on applications, case conferences, questioning, and trials
- Draft pleadings, affidavits, briefs, applications, undertakings, and settlement documentation with precision and clarity
- Advise clients on the strengths and risks of their claims and keep them informed at every stage of the file
- Work with senior counsel on complex matters, including strategy development, litigation planning, and trial preparation
- Maintain organized, well-documented files that meet limitation deadlines and Law Society standards
Requirements
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta, or eligible for immediate transfer;
- Minimum 1 year of civil litigation experience (new calls with strong litigation exposure during articling will be considered);
- Familiarity with the Alberta Rules of Court;
- Demonstrated advocacy skills and comfort appearing in court;
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and file management skills, with the ability to run several matters at once;
- Client-focused approach and the judgment to handle sensitive files with care
- Interest in building a practice; an existing book of business is welcomed but not required;
- Experience with Clio is an asset.

Compensation is discussed directly with candidates and structured on a per-file basis, most commonly as a fee split arrangement.
Pay: $90,000.00-$260,000.00 per year
