Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Massage Therapist Instructor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in massage therapy, teaching, and clinical practice, with experience in supervising students and utilizing learning management systems. This role involves developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to aspiring massage therapists, ensuring they meet industry standards and are well-prepared for professional practice. The instructor will foster a supportive learning environment, integrating research, hands-on training, and theoretical knowledge to cultivate competent future practitioners.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging massage therapy courses, including classroom instruction, laboratory sessions, and clinical supervision.
- Incorporate current research and industry best practices into curriculum design to ensure up-to-date training.
- Supervise students during practical applications, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and professional standards.
- Utilize LMS platforms such as Blackboard or similar systems for course management, assessments, and student tracking.
- Evaluate student performance through assessments, practical demonstrations, and written examinations.
- Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to support student growth in technical skills and professional development.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and clinical evaluations in compliance with accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to incorporate acute care, hospital experience, nursing principles, and patient care concepts into training modules.
- Conduct research on emerging trends in massage therapy education and integrate findings into curriculum updates.
Experience
- Supervising experience in educational or clinical settings preferred.
- Proven experience with LMS platforms such as Blackboard or similar learning management systems.
- Background in research related to massage therapy or healthcare education is advantageous.
- Experience working within acute care environments, hospitals, or nursing settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to massage therapy and patient care practices.
- Prior teaching experience in classroom or laboratory settings is essential.
- Familiarity with pediatrics, patient care protocols, and laboratory procedures enhances instructional quality.
- Strong understanding of healthcare standards related to hospital environments and nursing practices is beneficial.
