Whistler Sport Legacies is a multi-operational organization with flexible roles to changing demands within a sport delivery environment.

Videographer / Guest Activity Rep Host is the first point of contact for participants in all Whistler Sliding Centre programs. Responsibilities include photography and videography content providing lasting brand impression for guests. Under the direction of the Manager, Guest Services and Supervisor, Sport and Guest Services this role supports all sport and public programs. This is a seasonal Casual role that requires flexibility to work weekends and evenings.



Operate hardware/software to produce/edit video creation as directed
Take photographs as directed adapting to various lighting and environmental conditions
Follow media production standards, trends, and styles as directed
Incorporate business value into all productions
Understand and incorporate marketing and brand philosophy values into photographs and videos
Operate computers to manipulate photographic images

Guest Activity Rep Host

Greet visitors (athletes, coaches, public), and assist them to register for the product/service of their choice (e.g. assist athletes with sign-in process; assist the general public with the purchase of appropriate tour and/or ride products)
Process public sliding information requests and bookings by phone and/or email and send confirmations
Use a Point of Sale system to process track fees, rides, and merchandise payments and process end of day cash reconciliation
Track tour operator general admission/tours and Sliding Team Accounts in Siriusware, submit to Finance to process monthly invoices
Facilitate sport user group registration including processing fees and documentation as required
Foster a strong culture of health & safety; work with Human Resources and Safety to ensure all WorkSafeBC and BC Safety Authority requirements are met
Assist with race office duties as required
Deliver orientation sessions for athletes and public programs (both in the Guest Services building and track-side when assisting with the delivery of public tours and rides)
Facilitate public and sport programs (Bobsleigh and Skeleton Sport Experience).

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Gather and process participant information and waivers
Equipment safety inspections, e.g., helmets
Lead program safety presentation
Maintain radio communications with Control Tower
Walk participants to start and return
Safely load guests into sled
Recap safety components and final check of guest equipment and comfort level
Assist pilots at Finish Dock, and assist guests to unload safely
Safely load sled onto truck
Track maintenance, as assigned
Compile and submit athlete and public sliding start lists to Control Tower, and distribute sliding results to athletes and public sliders
Adhere to all operational and safety procedures including wearing PPE’s when required including ‘creepers’ while on-ice
Set up and operate camera for guest photos
Record track statistics for venue and specific sport run volume
Assist in general up-keep of the Guest Services areas, including the daily set up of equipment and displays indoors and outdoors
Support WSL departments including guest services, in the execution of WSC programs including domestic and international competitions
Assist with the execution of special events as required
Carry out Whistler Sport Legacies’ AIM philosophy: All Interactions Matter
Assist team with other duties as assigned or required

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
Photography / videography technical experience an asset
Guest Service experience required
Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license required
General knowledge of the Whistler Sliding Centre venue, and the sports of Bobsleigh, Luge, Skeleton, as well as high performance training an asset


Ability to use high quality camera equipment and GoPro equipment
Friendly and outgoing demeanour interacting with colleagues and guests
Strong interpersonal and communications skills
Proficient computer skills
Ability to perform in high pressure, multi-tasking environments independently and with little supervision
Takes personal accountability and responsibility for actions; takes initiative to find creative solutions to problems or issues
Willingness to assist other team members (at times outside of the department) as needed and requested
Passion for exceptional customer service is essential


Fluency in English required

Physical Requirements

Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to regularly lift 50lbs
