Cashier/Customer Service Hiring
MaKaam Modern Artisan Thai is looking for a passionate, reliable, and hardworking Wok Cook / Line Cook to join our kitchen team at Time Out Market Vancouver. Position Type
- Full-time or Part-time
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Immediate start available
Working Hours:
Shifts vary based on business needs and may include morning (10 am), evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Salary: Starting $19 + Tips / hour
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly, welcoming experience
- Handle credit, debit, and other payment transactions accurately
- Operate POS system and ensure correct billing
- Issue receipts, refunds, or change when needed
- Assist customers with inquiries, orders, and general support
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of cashier area
- Coordinate with kitchen/service team to ensure smooth order flow
- Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
- Follow company policies for payment handling and service standards
- Support basic upselling and promote menu items when appropriate
- Follow health, sanitation, and food safety regulations at all times.
- Support opening/ closing duties and assist team members during busy service periods.
Requirements & QualificationsExperience
- Previous experience in Thai, Asian, or high-volume restaurant kitchens preferred.
- Understanding of kitchen workflow and fast-paced service environments.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong multitasking and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to food allergies and quality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environment.
