Ted’s Tire Discounter is hiring an experienced Tire Technician who can walk into a busy shop and be productive on day 1.
We are a high-volume, well-respected business known for delivering quality service. Our reputation is built on doing the job properly. We are looking for a technician who can maintain a steady, efficient pace throughout our peak spring and fall seasons while upholding that standard.
This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone who already knows the job and requires minimal training.
This position begins as seasonal, with the opportunity for permanent employment for the right candidate.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Mounting, dismounting, repairing, and balancing passenger and light truck tires
- Using top-of-the-line tire and balancing equipment
- Performing high-volume seasonal tire swaps efficiently and accurately
- Diagnosing tire damage and completing proper, safe repairs
- Diagnosing and resolving TPMS issues, including sensor testing, relearn procedures, and troubleshooting warning lights
- Inspecting tires and assemblies and clearly communicating findings to service advisors
- Making professional repair or replacement recommendations based on condition and safety
- Working independently and as part of a coordinated team during busy periods
- Maintaining a clean, safe, organized workspace
- Following all shop safety procedures and Ontario regulations
- Working overtime during peak seasons as required
You must be able to regularly lift wheel and tire assemblies up to 85 lbs.
You should apply if you:
- Have prior tire industry experience, particularly during spring or fall swap seasons
- Have experience with Hunter tire equipment
- Can confidently operate tire machines and balancers independently
- Have working knowledge of TPMS systems and relearn procedures
- Are comfortable maintaining productivity in a fast-paced environment
- Take pride in doing the job right the first time
- Show up on time and take ownership of your output
- Work well within a team-based shop
If you require extensive training or struggle with pace during peak periods, this role will not be the right fit.
