Shop & Yard Hand
Job Summary
We're looking for a dependable, experienced, and hands-on Shop & Yard Hand to join our growing team. This role is responsible for helping keep our shop and yard running safely and efficiently through equipment cleaning, yard organization, shop support, and coordinating daily activities.
We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in a well-organized workspace, and is willing to pitch in wherever needed.
Responsibilities
- Help coordinate the daily workflow of the shop and yard.
- Wash sanitation equipment, trucks, trailers, totes, and drums to company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard, including general housekeeping and material organization.
- Load and unload equipment and materials.
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other equipment safely (training provided as required).
- Perform routine yard inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Take ownership of maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Promote and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Provide professional customer service when interacting with customers, vendors, and visitors.
- Assist with other shop and yard duties as required.
- Work overtime and rotational weekends when needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in a shop, yard, construction, transportation, or industrial environment preferred.
- Previous experience in a senior, lead, or mentorship role is an asset.
- Forklift and skid steer experience are assets.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Physically capable of lifting, bending, standing, and performing manual labour.
- Strong organizational skills with a safety-first mindset.
- Reliable, dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
