About Us
Luc’s European Meats, Cheeses & Eats is a family-owned specialty shop known for premium European meats, fine cheeses, and a high-touch, experience-driven style of service.
We don’t just sell products—we create memorable interactions, guide customers through discovery, and bring energy and personality to the counter every day.
Position Overview
We are looking for a confident, engaging, and polished sales associate who thrives in a customer-facing environment.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in hospitality or high-end customer service who understands how to read people, create connection, and deliver an experience—not just a transaction.
You bring presence, personality, and professionalism to every interaction. We can train product knowledge—but your ability to present, connect, and elevate the moment is what sets you apart.

- Customers feel welcomed, engaged, and confident in their purchase
- You naturally guide conversations, make recommendations, and upsell with ease
- You bring energy and showmanship to the counter without being overbearing
- You represent the Luc’s brand with polish, confidence, and consistency
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional, experience-driven customer service
- Confidently guide customers through product selections, pairings, and recommendations
- Cut, wrap, and package cheese and meats with precision and care
- Maintain strong product knowledge (we will train you) and communicate it clearly
- Actively contribute to visual merchandising and an inviting counter presence
- Support daily operations: stocking, cleaning, and maintaining standards
- Uphold Luc’s Standard for quality, consistency, and professionalism
Qualifications (Required)
- 2+ years of hospitality, high-end retail, or customer-facing sales experience
- Proven ability to engage customers, build rapport, and create a positive experience
- Strong communication skills with a natural sense of confidence and presence
- High emotional intelligence—ability to read people and adapt your approach
- Professional, polished, and reliable
Preferred (Strong Assets)
- Experience in food service, deli, cheese, or specialty retail
- Passion for food, wine, or hospitality culture
- Sales-oriented mindset with comfort recommending and upselling products
Physical & Scheduling Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Flexibility to work at both Calgary locations (NW & SE)
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly wage (based on experience)
- Staff discounts on premium products
- A high-performance, team-oriented environment
- Hands-on training in cheese, charcuterie, and product knowledge
- Consistent hours (28–34/week) with opportunity for growth
This role is not for someone looking to simply “work a counter.” We are looking for someone who takes pride in delivering an exceptional customer experience and brings energy, presence, and professionalism to every shift.
