Dog Walking Contractor Wanted - South Surrey / White Rock
Dogventures is growing, and I’m looking for someone who loves dogs as much as I do to join my team!
I’m looking for a reliable, responsible and genuinely dog-loving person to start 1-2 days a week, with the possibility of more as Dogventures continues to grow.
About you
- You live in South Surrey or White Rock, or know the area really well
- You have a reliable vehicle - there may occasionally be a dog that needs to be safely transported in your vehicle
- You’re comfortable with dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments, including bigger dogs
- You genuinely LOVE dogs
- You’re comfortable being outside and walking in all types of weather
- You’re comfortable working independently and making decisions on your own
- You’re physically active and able to walk up to 20,000 steps in a shift
- You have experience with dogs, whether that’s personal or professional
- You have Pet First Aid & CPR, or are willing to obtain it
- You’re reliable, punctual, communicative and willing to learn
- You’re available 1-2 days a week to start
About the walks
Dogventures focuses on private, one-on-one walks, which means our dogs often need a little extra care and attention.
Some of the dogs you may be working with are reactive to other dogs or people, seniors, puppies, anxious dogs, or dogs with other specific needs.
I’m looking for someone who can read a dog, recognize when something isn’t right, problem-solve and adapt to different situations while always keeping the dog's safety and well-being in mind.
You won't just be taking a dog for a walk and following the same route every time. Every dog is different, and every walk will be different.
Being able to confidently handle unexpected situations, think on your feet and make good decisions for the dog is really important.
I’ll provide training on Dogventures' routines, expectations and handling practices, but I’m looking for someone who already has a genuine understanding and love for dogs and is excited to keep learning.
The position
This is a part-time independent contractor position, starting at 1-2 days per week.
Dogventures operates Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM and is closed on weekends and statutory holidays.
As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own taxes and required personal/business insurance.
Compensation: Rate will be discussed based on experience.
