Restorative Wellness (RW) Manager
Footholds Therapy Center
Nanaimo, BC
Job Type: Full-time
Location: In-home — within Restorative Wellness client homes (not a remote position)
Footholds Therapy Center is currently seeking a Restorative Wellness (RW) Manager ready to lead an amazing team of people who are passionate about seeing our unique kids flourish.
Inspired by children and families, Footholds Therapy Center combines clinical judgement with compassion and hope to create a therapeutic environment in which goals are realized. We are a growing, locally owned, family-run therapy center that has been operating in Nanaimo and the Comox Valley for over ten years.
The RW Manager provides full oversight of Restorative Wellness homes supporting youth with challenging behaviours, high medical needs, autism, and youth at risk. This is a hands-on, in-home leadership role — you’ll be a consistent, active presence on the floor, modelling regulation and therapeutic practice while leading, coaching, and holding your team accountable to the Footholds Guiding Principles.
We are looking for an aspiring leader to join an exciting new opportunity. Come join our incredible Restorative Wellness team as we create a model of care to positively impact lives.
What You’ll Do
· Lead day-to-day operations of assigned homes, maintaining a consistent, active on-the-floor presence
· Build, schedule, and manage a cohesive staff team, ensuring full shift coverage across days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Coach and develop staff through direct feedback, training, and performance management, including formal disciplinary processes when required
· Monitor quality of care and documentation, and take timely corrective action to close any gaps
· Oversee implementation of care plans, behavioural strategies, and individualized goals, collaborating with clinical teams (e.g., BC, OT, SLP)
· Maintain household operations — cleanliness, maintenance, vehicle safety, grocery planning, and meal structure
· Oversee documentation and reporting, including communication logs, session notes, incident reports (MIRs/CIRs), and monthly reporting packages
· Manage household and client-related budgets, including receipt tracking and reconciliation
· Attend case load meetings with social workers, health professionals, and other external partners
· Reinforce Footholds Guiding Principles and therapeutic approaches consistently across all shifts
What We’re Looking For
· Degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (required)
· Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working with children and youth with complex needs
· Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
· Strong understanding of complex trauma, attachment, addiction, developmental disabilities, and trauma-reactive behaviours
· Trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and behaviour-based approach
· Strength-based, positive attitude
· Preferred: SIVA Training, MANDT, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
· Must be 19 years of age or older to work with children in care
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week (5-day work week, flexible based on operational needs). This role requires a minimum of 15 hours per week on the floor — training, coaching, and engaging directly with staff and youth.
