Are you a detail-oriented person who takes pride in creating a clean, welcoming environment? Homewood Suites by Hilton North Bay is looking for a dedicated Public Area Attendant to join our hospitality team. In this role, you are the face of our hotel's cleanliness. While room attendants focus on private guest suites, your mission is to ensure that every public space—from our stunning lakeside lobby to our shared guest amenities—is immaculate, safe, and deeply inviting. This role is perfect for someone energetic who loves to stay active, values teamwork, and enjoys interacting with traveling guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Deep Clean Common Areas: Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and sanitize the main lobby, hallways, elevators, stairwells, and business center.
- Maintain Guest Amenities: Clean and organize the fitness center, indoor pool deck, and outdoor patio spaces to ensure total guest safety.
- Public Restroom Upkeep: Clean, sanitize, and restock soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in all public restrooms on a strict hourly schedule.
- Waste & Linen Management: Empty all trash and recycling bins in common areas. Assist the laundry team by transporting dirty linens or trash to central disposal points.
- Support Food & Beverage: Keep the breakfast area and evening social lounge clean, wiped down, and clear of debris during and after service hours.
- Guest Relations: Greet guests warmly, offer assistance when needed, and direct guests to amenities like the front desk or elevators.
- Safety Protocols: Safely use and store commercial cleaning chemicals according to WHMIS guidelines. Promptly report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 1+ years of commercial cleaning, janitorial, or hotel housekeeping experience is preferred, but we will fully train the right candidate.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to walk and stand for an 8-hour shift, bend, kneel, reach, and safely lift/move up to 50 lbs (e.g., trash bags, heavy vacuums).
- Schedule Flexibility: Must be available to work a rotating schedule that includes early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Language: Functional English communication skills to interact safely and politely with hotel guests and co-workers.
- Core Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong time-management skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
