Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Telecommunications Drop/Cable Labourer and play a vital role in installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunication infrastructure. This energetic position involves working outdoors and in various environments to ensure seamless network connectivity for residential and commercial clients. You will handle cable drops, operate specialized equipment, and support the deployment of low voltage wiring essential for modern telecommunication systems. Duties
- Assist with the installation and repair of telecommunication cables, including fiber optics, copper lines, and other low voltage wiring systems
- Use of small hand tools such as QuickCut Saws
- Support trenching, cable pulling, and conduit installation activities following safety standards and technical specifications
- Conduct site inspections to ensure proper cable placement, secure connections, and adherence to safety protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including logs of cable runs and equipment usage
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues related to work
Qualifications
- Previous experience or familiarity with telecommunication systems or network infrastructure is mandatory
- Drop installation experience such as placement of Bell BSW and or Fiber from Ped’s and or GLB/SB’s required
- Experience with programs such as Excel is must
- Strong understanding of small hand tools
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; certification in forklift operation is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials regularly
- Strong understanding of English required
