The Opportunity
JGL Commodities Ltd. is looking for a Coordinator, Logistics to join our team in Saskatoon. This role is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day movement of commodities and ensuring shipments are scheduled, documented, tracked, and executed accurately and efficiently.
Working closely with our trading, operations, and administration teams, you’ll communicate regularly with carriers, customers, producers, plants, and internal teams to keep commodity movements on track from origin through final delivery.

Previous logistics or transportation experience is an asset. Familiarity with grain and Western Canadian agriculture is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Logistics Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate the day-to-day movement of commodities by truck, rail, and other transportation methods as required.
- Schedule and coordinate shipments, pickups, and deliveries based on contractual requirements, customer needs, and operational priorities.
- Create, release, update, and track loads from pickup through final delivery.
- Coordinate pickup numbers, delivery numbers, shipment details, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor shipments and proactively identify delays, changes, discrepancies, or potential execution issues.
- Communicate regularly with carriers, drivers, customers, plants, producers, and internal teams regarding shipment requirements and status.
- Work with carriers and transportation providers to support reliable and cost-effective freight execution.
- Assist with resolving transportation, scheduling, delivery, and documentation issues as they arise.
- Support trucking, rail, customs, and export requirements as needed.
Systems, Documentation & Reporting
- Enter, maintain, and update shipment, customer, carrier, rate, and load information within internal systems and external portals.
- Maintain accurate logistics spreadsheets, shipment trackers, transportation records, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure information provided to customers, carriers, and internal teams is accurate and timely.
- Maintain records related to freight rates, shipments, contracts, and transportation activity.
- Support shipment reporting, reconciliation, and follow-up activities.
- Review information for accuracy and identify missing documentation or discrepancies.
- Maintain organized and complete logistics and transportation records.
Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with trading, operations, and administration teams to ensure commodity movement aligns with contractual commitments and business priorities.
- Provide timely shipment and logistics information to support trading and customer decisions.
- Assist with contract execution and ensure transportation requirements are understood and coordinated.
- Communicate potential risks, delays, or service issues to the appropriate team members.
- Support continuous improvement of logistics processes, systems, and reporting.
- Assist with special projects and other business needs as required.

Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Commerce, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, commodity trading, agriculture, or a related environment is considered an asset.
- Experience or familiarity with grain, agricultural commodities, or Western Canadian agriculture is preferred.
- Strong computer skills and confidence working across multiple systems, software platforms, and customer portals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate multiple shipments, deadlines, and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively when plans change.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and contribute positively within a team environment.
- Willingness to continue learning and developing knowledge of commodity logistics, transportation, and grain movement.
