TEI Painters is building a different kind of painting company.
We believe professional painters deserve more than a job. They deserve an opportunity to build a career, develop their skills and earn an income that supports long-term financial stability.
We are looking for inexperienced painters through highly experienced professionals who want to learn, improve and become part of a team committed to doing exceptional work.
What Makes TEI Different?
TEI Painters is not trying to be the cheapest painting company.
We believe that homeowners deserve professional workmanship, and professional painters deserve to be compensated accordingly.
Our company is being built around:
- Structured training and proven painting processes
- Documented standards and procedures
- Professional communication
- Detailed project preparation
- Spotless job sites
- Premium painting products
- Strong workmanship standards
- Opportunities for advancement
- Compensation designed to reward skill, experience and performance
We're building a company where exceptional craftsmanship, professionalism and respect come first.
Compensation
TEI recognizes that painters bring a skilled trade to every project.
Our compensation philosophy is designed around the experience, skills, responsibilities and value each painter brings to the company.
Starting at $25.00/hour for inexperienced painters
Painters with approximately 3–4 years of experience can progress toward compensation designed to support long-term financial stability and the cost of living in the communities where they work.
Highly experienced painters who demonstrate exceptional skill, reliability, leadership and consistently meet the TEI Standard can work toward what we call the TEI Living Wage.
Your actual compensation will depend on your experience, demonstrated ability, training and performance.
The TEI Living Wage Philosophy
TEI Painters believes professional painters deserve professional compensation.
We don't believe experience, skill and responsibility should be treated the same as entry-level labour.
Our goal is to create a career path where compensation increases as painters develop their skills, demonstrate their abilities and take on greater responsibility.
Inexperienced painters joining TEI start at $25.00/hour and receive structured training designed to help them develop professionally.
Painters with several years of experience can progress toward compensation designed to provide a financially sustainable career in the communities where they work.
Highly experienced painters who consistently demonstrate exceptional craftsmanship, professionalism, reliability and leadership can work toward what TEI calls the TEI Living Wage.
The TEI Living Wage is our commitment to building compensation around the real cost of maintaining a stable professional life, not simply around the minimum we can pay to fill a position.
Mortgage qualification, home ownership and financial security ultimately depend on each person's individual circumstances, including credit, debt, savings and other factors. TEI cannot guarantee those outcomes. What we can do is work toward providing the level of income that gives our professionals a genuine opportunity to achieve them.

The TEI Standard
We believe preparation is the foundation of an exceptional finish.
At TEI, the job isn't simply:
“Put paint on the wall.”
It's understanding the condition of the surface, preparing it properly, protecting the home, applying the appropriate products correctly and leaving the property clean when the work is complete.
We don't expect perfection from someone on their first day.
We expect people to learn, improve and take pride in becoming better professionals.
The Right Person for TEI
We're looking for people who understand that professional painting involves more than technical ability.
You should take pride in:
- Your preparation.
- Your workmanship.
- Your communication.
- Your cleanliness.
- Your reliability.
- Your reputation.
If you're only looking for the quickest way to get paint on a wall, TEI probably isn't the right company for you.
If you want to learn how to do the work properly, develop your skills and build a career in the trade, we'd like to meet you.
For highly experienced professionals, TEI offers the opportunity to become more than another painter on a crew.
As the company grows, experienced painters may have opportunities to take on greater responsibility through:
Painter → Senior Painter → Lead Painter → Trainer → Supervisory Opportunities
Advancement will be based on demonstrated skill, professionalism, leadership and the ability to consistently meet TEI standards.
