Job Overview
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Shipper / Receiver function is mandatory.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the flow of goods in and out of our facility, ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Order Preparation: Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to the schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship). Ensure accuracy and timeliness in order fulfillment.
- Stock Processing: Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store). Inspect incoming shipments for damage and verify product counts.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Keep a clean and safe working environment, including sweeping floors, organizing shelves, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Optimize space utilization and reconfigure storage as needed.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain warehouse forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring they are in good working condition. Schedule and order regular equipment maintenance and order repairs when needed.
- Documentation and Reporting: Document product movements, including pictures of shipments, and report any discrepancies or issues. Assist with preparing reports for management.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in safety training and adhere to company safety policies.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all products are handled with care to maintain high-quality standards. Perform quality checks on products before shipping and receiving.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate and cooperate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments.
Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Shipper/Receiver in a manufacturing environment.
- High attention to detail is essential with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a busy environment.
- Extensive experience preparing international shipments including customs documents. (USMCA Cert, Commercial Invoice, B13).
- Extensive knowledge of major couriers – FedEx, Purolator, UPS, etc. including how to operate their respective software packages.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Forklift license and effective experience are mandatory.
- Physical ability to lift max. 50lb.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License.
- Post secondary education preferred.
Hours and Wages:
- 7:30AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday,
- 40 hours per week
- Salary based on experience.
