Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Side Hoe Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment with attachments such as Hoe Pack, to assist in various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy machinery, safety protocols, and efficient operation to ensure project success and safety on-site. Candidates with experience in civil construction and heavy equipment operation are encouraged to apply.
Duties
- Operate side hoe equipment with precision to perform excavation, grading, hoe pack and material handling tasks
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
- Load and unload materials using appropriate heavy equipment
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment including excavators
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- Construction experience with a focus on excavation or related fields highly desirable
- Strong understanding of safety standards in civil construction environments
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable transportation
Pay: $42.60 per hour
