Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Greenhouse Worker to join our horticultural team. This role involves maintaining and caring for plants within a greenhouse environment, ensuring optimal growth conditions, and supporting overall plant health. Duties
- Assist with planting, watering, and fertilizing plants using appropriate irrigation techniques
- Monitor plant health and identify signs of pests or disease for prompt action
- Operate hand tools and mechanical equipment to support greenhouse maintenance and setup
- Perform heavy lifting of plants, soil, or supplies as needed to ensure proper placement and organization
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the greenhouse environment
- Support the setup and repair of irrigation systems to ensure efficient watering schedules
- Use basic math skills for measuring soil, fertilizers, or adjusting watering schedules
- Assist with pruning, repotting, and transplanting plants to promote healthy growth
- Follow safety protocols when handling gardening tools and mechanical equipment
Qualifications
- Prior experience or knowledge in horticulture, gardening, or related fields is preferred but not required
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and mechanical tools is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) regularly throughout the workday
- Familiarity with hand tools and gardening equipment is desirable
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good physical stamina for standing, bending, and lifting during extended periods
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to plant care tasks
- A proactive attitude towards learning new skills in greenhouse operations and plant management
Pay: $17.60 per hour
