Dynamic Communications & Community Engagement Coordinator for Private School

Renert School is seeking a Communications & Community Engagement Coordinator to shape how our story is told: clearly, creatively, and with care.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, media and education. You will guide Renert’s voice across platforms, strengthen connections within our community, and work directly with students on communication and yearbook projects. The work is relational and creative, but also structured and strategic.
This is a full-time (or close to full-time position). The scope of the role may evolve depending on the successful candidate's skills and strengths.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & Branding
- Lead and support a cohesive communications and engagement strategy aligned Renert’s mission and values
- Ensure consistency of tone, voice, and visual identity across all platforms
- Oversee internal and external communications, including newsletters, website content and social media
- Support school leadership with sensitive or time-critical communications
Storytelling & Content
- Attend school events and capture moments that define life at Renert
- Write and edit content for newsletters, blogs, and social channels
- Coordinate photography and video for authentic visual storytelling
- Maintain a well-organized media archive
Community & Alumni Engagement
- Work with the Community Team to align internal culture-building with external storytelling
- Promote school events, initiatives, and achievements to families, alumni, and the broader community
- Support alumni communication through newsletters and features
Internal Communications
- Support internal communication systems that keep staff informed, aligned, and connected
- Assist with collaboration and workflow using Google Workspace and related tools
Student Collaboration & Mentorship
- Supervise and mentor the High School Yearbook Team
- Oversee student photographers and media collection for yearbook and school use
- Mentor students in communication, design, and storytelling practices.
- Offer elective classes in communication-related areas, based on expertise
Digital Presence & Analytics
- Oversee the school's digital and social media presence
- Track engagement and use analytics to refine communication strategy
- Stay current with trends in digital storytelling and education communication
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum three years of relevant experience
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Experience mentoring or working with children and teenagers
- Familiarity with content creation and design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, video editing software).
- Strong understanding of social media strategy and analytics.
- Comfort using digital platforms and AI-supported tools
- Genuine love of children and teenagers
- Collaborative, adaptable, and energized by a creative school environment
- Availability to attend and document after-school events

Pay: $23.50-$25.75 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
