Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in guest services, possess excellent communication skills, and have experience in hospitality or food service environments. This role is vital in ensuring a positive first impression and smooth flow of the dining experience. Previous restaurant or hotel experience, along with proficiency in POS systems such as Micros, is highly desirable. The Host/Hostess will be responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and assisting with seating arrangements to enhance overall customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive customer service
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems like Micros
- Escort guests to their tables and ensure timely seating arrangements
- Answer phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to coordinate seating and service flow
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and provide information about the restaurant or hotel amenities
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming environment that promotes guest satisfaction and repeat business
Qualifications
- Prior experience in guest services, serving, hospitality, or food service preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse guests
- Knowledge of restaurant POS systems such as Micros is a plus
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous restaurant or hotel experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Friendly demeanor, positive attitude, and team-oriented mindset
