Position Overview: Unified LLP is expanding to Edmonton. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Law Associate to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in family law (Alberta) and a proven track record of delivering excellent legal services to clients. This role requires a strong understanding of family law, exceptional client management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, property division, and domestic violence cases.
- Provide high-quality legal advice and representation to clients, ensuring their rights and interests are protected.
- Conduct thorough legal research and draft pleadings, motions, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of family law legislation and case law.
- Foster strong client relationships through regular communication and exceptional service.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD)
- Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience practicing family law in Alberta.
- Strong knowledge of family law, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, and property division.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional client management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
