Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver (5-ton) to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods, maintaining excellent customer service, and ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on safety, communication, and efficient handling of cargo in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate 5-ton trucks to deliver goods to various locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or manual handling, ensuring proper securing of loads
- Assist with warehouse operations including moving inventory and organizing shipments
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate deliveries and pickups
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally during deliveries
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly operating 5-ton trucks or similar vehicles
- Warehouse experience including moving inventory and forklift operation is preferred
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and customers
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes
- Familiarity with warehouse procedures and safety protocols is a plus
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record is required
