Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dealership team. The Service Advisor acts as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department, ensuring a smooth and positive experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, automotive knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will have dealership or mechanic experience, along with strong sales and customer service skills, to effectively recommend services and upsell additional repairs when appropriate.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival for service appointments
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
- Provide detailed explanations of necessary repairs and maintenance services
- Prepare repair orders, estimate costs, and communicate timelines clearly to customers
- Upsell additional services or repairs that benefit the customer’s vehicle safety and performance
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of work
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
- Follow up with customers regarding vehicle status and satisfaction after service completion
- Maintain detailed records of services performed and customer interactions
- Promote dealership services, parts, and accessories to enhance customer loyalty
Skills
- Proven dealership or mechanic experience preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and repairs
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to customers of varying knowledge levels
- Sales skills with a focus on upselling relevant services and products
- Experience handling cash transactions accurately
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes and dealership operations is highly desirable
