Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool & Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, assembling, and maintaining precision tools, dies, and molds used in manufacturing processes. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality components by creating accurate and durable tooling solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in CAD software, and experience with CNC machinery to support efficient and precise manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and CAD drawings to develop tool designs.
- Program and operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines to produce tooling components.
- Fabricate tools and dies using hand tools, welding equipment, and machining techniques.
- Perform precise measurements with calipers and other inspection tools to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Assemble tooling components accurately according to specifications, ensuring proper fit and function.
- Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on existing tools and dies to maintain optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to modify or improve tooling designs for efficiency.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, modifications, and inspections.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all fabrication, assembly, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Tool & Die Maker or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
- Skilled in CNC programming for milling machines and lathes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with schematics, math skills, and assembly techniques.
- Familiarity with welding processes and the use of hand tools for fabrication tasks.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and tool assembly.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and interpret schematics effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail coupled with problem-solving skills to troubleshoot tooling issues efficiently.
