The Norton WiFi Privacy product with VPN technology continues to expand with the recent acquisition of 2 year partner, SurfEasy, a leading Virtual Private Network (VPN) provider delivering easy-to-use solutions for online privacy and security on smartphones, tablets and computers. VPN technology encrypts consumers’ communications online, which can include sensitive information such as passwords and credit card information, and helps to protect that information from being intercepted by cyber-criminals.

About the Role:
Our secure VPN network is the heart of our product. We are looking for someone who will help us build and manage our worldwide privacy network. The network is built on our hybrid-private cloud (dedicated servers, virtualization & a variety of public providers) and uses leading best practices including automated server deployment. Everything we do is at scale.

This role is ideal if you have

Experience working with server hosting or internet provider, provisioning servers and network infrastructure via code
Highly responsible, motivated and able to thrive in an energetic, fast-paced, collaborative environment
A good work ethic and the ability to work effectively independently and as a contributing member of an agile team
Creative problem solving skills and an ability to apply business requirements to development implementations
Are passionate about technology, apps, online security and VPN’s (big plus!)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other members of the VPN network development team
Manage infrastructure as code with the use of applications, scripts, bots and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Terraform and Ansible
Utilize Docker and containers to efficiently deploy solutions
Configure networking for virtual machines/containers/instances using automation
Enhance deployment automation code base
Develop tooling for monitoring, alerting and dynamic scaling
Ensure test coverage and quality are at or above team standards
Create automated reports on various metrics
Participate in On-Call rotation
Actively participate in Agile rituals and cadences

Knowledge & Experience:
Post-secondary education in Engineering or Science or related professional experience
Strong analytical and trouble shooting/problem solving skills
Advanced experience with Linux server administration and networking
Advanced knowledge of networking and routing protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, SSH, BGP
Excellent written and verbal communication
OO Development in at least one of the following languages – RoR, Scala, Java, Python, GoLang
Deep understanding of Cloud Infrastructure from AWS, Google or MS Azure
Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Debian, FreeBSD, Redhat)
At least 3 years of Linux system administration
3+ years working with Linux security and network hardening
Linux applications (load-balancers, firewalls IDS/IPS and network performance)
Strong knowledge of system, Postgres & MySQL database and network security
Experience with centralized logging tools (ELK, Splunk etc.)
Solid grasp of routing and switching concepts and technology
Experience in a 24/7/365, multi-tiered large-scale production environment
