Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Hands On Production Manager to join our team at Northwest Enclosures, a fast-growing company. This role is key for our recent expansion to the Eastern part of Canada, with a new facility located in Bolton, Ontario. The right candidate will have extensive experience with metal fabrication, resource planning and leading a medium sized team of skilled welders and fabricators to assemble enclosures for clients. This role is approximately 80% hand-on fabricating on the shop floor and mentoring junior welders and 20% administrative, focusing on scheduling, resource planning, and workflow organization.
Responsibilities
- Leading fabrication work for steel enclosures and mentoring junior welders/fabricators to ensure quality standards are met
- Work with senior staff to schedule and plan resource allocation for active and future projects
- Assist in delegating daily tasks to all shop personnel
- Assisting in scheduling projects according to the Master Production Schedule
- Support and oversee shop tooling & maintenance, confirming fabrication equipment is as appropriate for all active work
- Assist with daily shop production meetings
- Assist with shop personnel training, confirming everyone is given the right amount of training for success
- Work Closely with Operations & Quality to complete all project redlines for final documentation with respect to fabrication work
- Assisting Operations with hiring and terminating employees as needed
- Work closely with Operations to ensure each job has the proper amount of staff resources for completion
- Work closely with fabrication team to plan required parts and material in proper sequencing for each project
- Work closely with the Design team to review drawings, ensuring best build practice is being used
- Encourage the shop personnel to follow the company’s core values (Safety, Teamwork, Quality, Fun, Customer Focused) and maintain a positive, friendly work environment on the shop floor
- Adhere to safety standards and procedures with continuously changing working environments
Qualifications
- Effective organization and communication skills with customers, inspectors and coworkers in both verbal and written forms
- Extensive metal fabrication experience with strong familiarity with reading and planning tasks based on blueprints provided
- Extensive experience leading and resource planning medium sized teams of skilled trades workers.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently
- Experience managing shop floor resources and planning material movements. Demonstrated experience of reducing touch points on material to the minimum is a key skill required
- Required to have experience with welding quality assurance and familiarity working with CWB welding procedures
- Required to have experience and understanding with sheet metal design, welding and fabrication
- Ideal to have a basic understanding in Generator / Electrical House industry
- Familiarity with MS Office such as (Excel, Word, Teams)

Work Location & Hours:
In person for 40hrs a week at 151 Parr Blvd, Bolton, Ontario. Shifts will be Monday-Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm. Overtime may be available.
Pay: $42.00-$50.00 per hour
