The Role:
Oppono Lending Company is seeking a 6-month term full-time contract position for a Junior Accountant to join our amazing team!
Responsibilities:
- Journalize daily transactions in QuickBooks, including mortgage funding and discharges
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies or misapplied transactions of customers
- Investigate accounts receivable problems while following corporate A/R policies and procedures
- Post and reconcile customer payments from various types
- Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners
- Reconcile bank deposits and transfers
- Bookkeeping of credit card and other transactions
- Any other duties as assigned
The Requirements Needed:
- Proficient with Accounting software program QuickBooks
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Able to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations on a large volume of transactions
- Attention to details and a high degree of accuracy
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast pace working environment
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Educational Requirements:
- Post Secondary Education in Accounting or Finance, and/or two years of AR/AP experience, or an equivalent combination
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Salary: $30.00 per hour
