Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House is seeking a compassionate and community-minded Adult Day Program Resource Worker to support older adults in our Adult Day Program. Working closely with the Nurse Manager, this role leads and supports participant engagement, therapeutic recreation programming, volunteer involvement, community partnerships, and program development to enhance participant well-being, independence, and social connection.
Specific Duties Include:
- As part of the Activity Leader Team, to provide participant support through therapeutic recreation, wellness, social, and activity programming, including activity leadership and individualized support.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager, caregivers, and program team for participant intake, care planning, program delivery, documentation, and quality improvement (research and evaluation)
- Support caregivers through communication, education, and community connections.
- Facilitate community integration through social prescribing, system navigation, and connections to community resources and services.
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment, orientation, engagement, and recognition, and support special projects, events, and community partnerships.
- Assist with day-to-day program operations and service continuity.
- Able to engage participation across cultures and languages
This is a Monday to Friday work schedule with the possibility of periodic evening or weekend events.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation, Gerontology, Social Services, Health Sciences, Social Work, Counselling, or a related human services field preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience working with older adults in community, health care, adult day program, or non-profit settings; experience supporting individuals living with dementia
- Knowledge and experience with person-centred care, healthy aging, dementia care, and strengths-based therapeutic recreation, wellness, social program delivery
- Knowledge of community resources, social prescribing, caregiver supports, and system navigation.
- Demonstrated leadership in building collaborative relationships and mobilizing community partnerhsips to achieve meaningful outcomes for older adults and their families.
- Experience with volunteer recruitment, orientation, and engagement is an asset.
- Highly developed administrative, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate priorities and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Able to work with clients of diverse cultures and languages who live in Kensington-Cedar Cottage
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification, Food Safe, and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check required.

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Hourly Wage: Band P4, Step 3 ($30.92)
