POSITION SUMMARY
The Marina Manager is responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, safety, financial performance, and customer experience of Oyster Bay Marina. Reporting to the CEO, the Marina Manager ensures the marina operates efficiently, safely, and professionally while delivering exceptional service to moorage customers, guests, and visitors.
The Marina Manager is responsible for maximizing marina occupancy and revenue, maintaining marina infrastructure and assets, supporting marina staff, and contributing to the strategic growth and development of the marina.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marina Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the marina, including moorage, guest services, facilities, grounds, security, and maintenance.
- Ensure the marina is operated in a safe, clean, organized, and professional manner.
- Optimize slip utilization and occupancy levels to maximize revenue.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures and ensure compliance with marina policies, contracts, and regulations.
Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional customer service to moorage customers, guests, and visitors.
- Respond to inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a prompt and professional manner.
- Foster positive relationships with customers, stakeholders, and community partners.
Staff Coordination
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise marina staff and contractors as required.
- Promote a positive, safe, and customer-focused workplace culture.
Financial Management & Business Development
- Assist with the preparation and administration of budget.
- Monitor revenues and expenses and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Work with the CEO to implement marketing, sales, and business development initiatives that increase marina occupancy and revenue.
Facility, Safety & Environmental Management
- Inspect and maintain marina infrastructure, facilities, equipment, and grounds.
- Conduct and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and capital improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain safety programs, emergency response procedures, and environmental best practices.
Administration
- Maintain accurate records related to marina operations, maintenance, customer accounts, and safety inspections.
- Ensure effective use of marina management software and reporting systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 8 years of management or supervisory experience, preferably in marina, hospitality, tourism, marine, facilities, or property management.
- Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing budgets and operational performance.
- Knowledge of marina operations, boating, marine facilities, and waterfront infrastructure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and marina management software.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- First Aid certification and marine safety training are considered assets.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Combination of office and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Weekend and holiday work required during peak operating seasons.
- Availability to respond to operational emergencies when required.
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
