Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated French-speaking Health Care Aid to provide exceptional care and support to our diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings, and possess strong skills in patient care, medication administration, and caregiving. Fluency in French is essential to effectively communicate with our French-speaking clients and their families. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately according to prescribed instructions
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary
- Support patients with mobility challenges through safe lifting and transfer techniques
- Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients, fostering a caring environment
- Maintain cleanliness of patient areas, including light cleaning duties related to personal spaces
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as toileting and hygiene routines
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans
- Respect patient confidentiality and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice, or home care environments preferred
- Strong background in patient care, caregiving, medication administration, and senior or disability care
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English; bilingual proficiency is essential
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve patients' quality of life
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; previous experience working with individuals with dementia or disabilities is a plus
- Current registration with the CLHA or relevant healthcare training is mandatory
