We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Shear Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and safety protocols to ensure high-quality output and efficient production flow.
Responsibilities:
· Set up and operate mechanical shear machines to cut material to specified dimensions
· Read and interpret work orders, and track completed orders
· Measure, inspect, and verify cut materials using tape measures, in metric and imperial
· Adjust machine settings to ensure accuracy, quality, and productivity
· Effectively use material to ensure minimum scrap
· Safely handle raw materials and finished products using proper lifting and pulling techniques
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company health and safety standards
· Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production targets
· Identify and report quality issues, equipment concerns, or safety hazards
· Other duties as required
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum 1 year of experience operating shear equipment in a manufacturing environment
· Experience working with steel and aluminum is required
· Ability to read work orders and use measuring tools
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Physically capable of standing for extended periods and handling materials in a production setting
· Physically able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds of material
· Physically able to push and pull up to 100 pounds of material
Pay: $25.00 per hour
