Cost Accountant to join their collaborative finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with operations and senior leadership, providing key financial insights that directly influence manufacturing performance, pricing, and business decision-making.
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, inventory, and operational data to ensure accurate product costing, improve profitability, and support strategic planning. This role is ideal for a strong cost accountant who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys combining accounting expertise with data analysis.

Responsibilities:
- Accurately determine manufacturing costs for parts, labour, and production processes to support product pricing and profitability
- Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, work centres, inventory, and production data to identify cost drivers and operational efficiencies
- Perform detailed margin analysis by product, customer, and manufacturing job
- Develop and maintain financial and operational dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools using Excel and business intelligence platforms
- Conduct inventory, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing overhead variance analysis
- Monitor production jobs and proactively identify gross margin risks and opportunities
- Reconcile inventory-related general ledger accounts and ensure the integrity of financial and operational data
- Support month-end and year-end reporting through financial analysis, reconciliations, and data validation
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and business planning by analyzing historical trends and manufacturing performance
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Production, and Supply Chain to improve cost visibility and support strategic decision-making
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting, improve processes, and strengthen data governance within the finance function
- Serve as a key resource for ERP reporting and manufacturing financial analysis
Qualifications:
- CPA designation preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
- Minimum 5 years of cost accounting or financial analysis experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, BOMs, routings, and work centres
- Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to operational stakeholders
