About the Role
We are a growing multi-location healthcare organization looking for a detail-oriented General Accountant to join our team. This is a hands-on role supporting bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and day-to-day financial operations across 10+ clinics and growing.
Based in Mississauga and reporting to the Controller, the General Accountant will support the financial operations of the business's clinics across the GTA. If you are highly organized, comfortable working with deadlines, and enjoy taking ownership of accounting and payroll processes in a fast-paced medical setting, we’d love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Maintain accurate financial records for all locations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Reconcile merchant accounts and bank accounts across multiple clinic locations
- Track revenue by service type and prepare monthly sales reports
- Manage vendor accounts and cash disbursements across all locations
- Review and reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule
- Ensure payroll processes comply with Ontario Employment Standards and CRA requirements
- Work with Regional Managers to verify employee hours, commissions, bonuses, and updates to employee pay records
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports
- Support day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities as required
- Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation across multiple locations
What We're Looking For
- 2-5 years of accounting experience
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Exceptional understanding of payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now
- Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
- Experience managing payroll in compliance with Ontario Employment Standards and CRA requirements
- Experience working with multiple locations or business units is an asset
- Experience with medical billing software and EMR systems such as Accuro is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
- Ability to work independently while managing recurring responsibilities
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing demands
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
