About the role:
The Financial Advisor for International Students is responsible for overseeing all aspects of student financing, from application through to post-graduation. This role acts as a crucial liaison between students, financial institutions, and internal departments, ensuring smooth processing of financial aid and maintaining accurate student records. The Advisor also plays a proactive role in identifying and resolving program financial-related issues.

What You Will Do
- Educate potential clients and key influencers on the value of investing in education.
- Advise students on funding options, including Student Loans, Bank Loans/Credit Lines, Payment Plans, WCB, and other options
- Build and maintain accurate student files and manage enrollment data through SAS.
- File Change of Address forms for students with lending institutions and confirm enrollment for funding.
- Track payments, reconcile accounts, and manage overdue balances.
- Ensure all financial obligations are met before student program completion.
- Manage communication and collection processes for overdue accounts.
- Assist students in understanding and planning student loan repayments post-graduation.
- Support with domestic applicants on an as-needed basis by assisting with the student loan application process, including documentation and status updates.
- Cancel Student Loan documents for students not attending.
- Develop and implement systems and procedures for financial services.
- Conduct student exit interviews to ensure awareness of repayment schedules and consequences.
- Complete required forms and prepare reports on student attendance, withdrawal and attrition as needed by other Departments or external bodies such as IRCC
- Analyze statistics and provide recommendations regarding enrollment and program effectiveness.
- Support collaboration across admissions and student success departments.
- Coordinate program start and graduation numbers in relation to financial support.
- Manage paperwork for processing re-entries, deferrals, transfers, and cancellations.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, graduation and campus events as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Understanding of the Private College Industry preferred.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Certificate in Finance/Business or equivalent education and industry experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
