We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant bakery team. This role involves supporting daily bakery operations, assisting with food preparation, decorating baked goods, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and customer service. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation including mixing, measuring, and assembling ingredients for baked goods.
- Decorate cakes and pastries with precision and creativity, adhering to customer specifications or bakery standards.
- Package baked items securely for sale or delivery while maintaining presentation quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace, including equipment and storage areas.
- Follow all food safety protocols and proper handling procedures to ensure product quality and safety.
- Support the team during busy periods by managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service, answering questions about products and assisting with selections when needed.
- Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and notifying management of low stock levels.
Qualifications
- Experience in cake decorating, baking, or food preparation is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is advantageous, especially in food handling and safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for presentation and quality control.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices in a kitchen setting.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with precision.
