Reporting to the Provincial Director of Allied Health Services, the Program Manager for the provincial Rehabilitation Advice Line (RAL) and Virtual Rehabilitation Team (VRT) provides strategic leadership and oversight to ensure the delivery of safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered virtual care services. This role is accountable for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of business processes that support program growth, operational excellence, and performance standards. The Program Manager leads and manages a diverse, multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including both regulated and non-regulated staff, as well as unionized and non-union exempt employees (NUEE). The position requires a specialized depth and breadth of knowledge across a range of rehabilitation clinical practice areas, along with a strong understanding of teletriage systems and virtual health service delivery. The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive experience in allied health practice, leadership, and the management of financial and human resources. In addition, the Program Manager contributes to Health Link’s commitment to practice excellence by actively engaging in scholarly activities, including research, knowledge translation, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
The Program Manager, RAL and VRT, is a key operational leadership role within the Health Link 811 team. This provincial role is responsible for the management, growth and development of virtual rehabilitation models of care including teletriage and hub and spoke models of care in keeping with the vision and mission of Primary Care Alberta. The successful candidate will provide team leadership, program direction, and successful integration into an evolving health care system. This position is an in-person position and is based out of the Health Link office, Calgary Alberta. This position will work closely with Health Link Directors, Clinical Managers; Clinical Support Managers, Clinical Supervisors, Senior Consultant RAL, and other Health Link teams including business support units. There is a high degree of collaboration between Provincial Health Agencies and allied health leaders. The Program Manager will lead these rehabilitation teams to achieve their goals to provide equitable access to rehabilitation services across the province of Alberta.

Required Qualifications:
Baccalaureate Degree in an Allied Health Profession. Current licensure with related licensing body. A minimum of 5 years’ proven leadership experience working within multi-disciplinary teams.
Additional Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of allied health best practice standards (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Social Work) and their application within teletriage environments across a range of virtual care delivery modalities. Strong conflict resolution skills, along with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, are essential for effectively collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders. Experience managing a unionized work force in an organization of substantial size and complexity. Proficiency in key digital platforms, including Genesys Cloud, Microsoft 365, Zoom, and Connect Care is required. This role also requires demonstrated experience in establishing provincial clinical partnerships as well as leading associated planning, implementation, and evaluation processes. The ideal candidate will exhibit a high level of adaptability, with a proven ability to respond to evolving priorities and manage change effectively.
