The Chartered Professional Accountants of Manitoba (CPA Manitoba) is a regulatory body that represents more than 9,000 members, candidates and students. CPA Manitoba protects the public interest through rigorous educational and certification programs and ensures its members uphold the highest professional and ethics standards.
The Business Development Officer role is the public point of contact for recruitment of the CPA designation in Manitoba. This position is responsible for working collaboratively to plan and execute on innovative ways to market the profession that are in line with the organization’s strategic objectives. As an ambassador of the profession, the position engages in stakeholder outreach activities with high schools, post-secondary institutions, and the business community to increase the awareness of the CPA designation. The role also entails outreach initiatives to support new Canadians and internationally trained professionals. An emphasis of the position is also being a trusted advisor who provides guidance and one-on-one support to individuals pursuing the CPA designation.
Independence in the role is expected as well as being available for occasional evening and/or weekend work to support recruitment activities. Access to a vehicle is also required due to travel within Winnipeg and rural Manitoba communities.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate is both resourceful and an outstanding communicator who enjoys a fast-paced and collaborative working environment, networking, and presenting to audiences of all sizes. The ability to deliver a consistently high level of customer service and a willingness to assist others comes naturally to you.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products and experience working with database management systems is valued to perform the responsibilities of the role.
To qualify for the role of Business Development Officer, you will possess a post-secondary bachelor’s degree or diploma in business with a major in marketing, accounting or a related discipline. Experience working in an association or not-for-profit environment and familiarity of the accounting and finance industry is an asset.
