We are seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Labourer to join our growing team. This position plays an important role in supporting construction operations by assisting with site preparation, material handling, equipment maintenance, and general labour duties. The successful candidate will be safety-conscious, hardworking, and eager to contribute to a variety of commercial construction projects while working alongside experienced construction professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements to maintain a safe work environment.
- Prepare and maintain construction sites, including debris and garbage removal, sweeping, shovelling, digging, and snow removal.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Support site operations by carrying materials, setting up work areas, and performing general labour tasks as required.
- Assist with traffic control and site access management when necessary.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are clean, maintained, and in good working order.
- Safely operate hand and power tools, including drills, saws, hammers, and other construction equipment.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and report any deficiencies or safety concerns.
- Complete additional duties and project-related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Experience working with construction tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete tasks efficiently and according to schedule.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in a construction environment.
- Valid Ontario G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Valid AZ Licence is considered a strong asset.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to meet the changing needs of projects and follow direction from the Service Manager, Project Manager, Lead Hand, or Site Superintendent.
- Effective verbal communication skills in English; French is considered an asset.
- Ability to obtain Government of Canada security clearance.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily on active construction sites and may involve both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Duties require frequent lifting, carrying, bending, climbing, and other physical activities.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and construction site environments.
- Travel between project locations may be required.
