Our client, a well-established and highly respected construction industry giant is seeking a Quality Lead to operate out of its Mississauga, ON office. The QA/QC Lead will report to the Quality Director and is responsible for supporting the implementation and execution of quality assurance and quality control processes across multiple Buildings projects. This role combines both field-level coordination and project-level oversight to ensure all work complies with company standards, client requirements, and applicable codes.
Based out of Mississauga, this role will require regular travel to project sites in Niagara, Sudbury, Milton, and other locations as needed.
This role will require OPP Clearance.
The Job:
- Support the development and implementation of Project Quality Plans aligned with project execution requirements
- Coordinate daily quality activities with project teams, subcontractors, and clients, including inspections and documentation review
- Ensure traceability of materials and installation from procurement through to commissioning
- Develop, implement, and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and supporting documentation
- Perform site inspections, walkdowns, and audits to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and codes
- Manage deficiencies, punch lists, NCRs, and CARs, including tracking through to resolution
- Review and approve subcontractor quality documentation and turnover packages
- Support commissioning and turnover processes to ensure project closeout requirements are met
- Maintain accurate and complete quality records, reports, and logs to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance
- Prepare quality reports and provide updates to project leadership and stakeholders
- Participate in internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and follow-up actions
- Identify quality risks and support corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with project teams
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends and recommending process improvements
- Provide guidance and support to site teams on quality standards, best practices, and procedures
- Based on your technical expertise, you may be asked to be a subject matter expert on Request for Qualification (RFQs), Request for Proposal (RFPs), and Express of Interest (EOIs) proposal submissions. This may include writing and reviewing narratives on your area of expertise, providing information for projects you have worked on and will work on with Bird, and providing information required for your resume.

Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- 3-7+ years of experience in QA/QC within construction (commercial, institutional, or industrial projects preferred)
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, documentation, and field execution
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (CSA, Building Code, ISO 9001)
- Experience with inspections, commissioning, and project turnover
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tools such as Bluebeam and construction management systems
