Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience operating CNC lathes and milling machines. This role involves setting up, programming, and operating CNC equipment to produce precision parts according to blueprints and specifications. The CNC Machinist will play a vital part in ensuring high-quality production standards while adhering to safety protocols and lean manufacturing principles.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machinery including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines using Fanuc controls.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to produce accurate parts.
- Write or modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other programming tools. This is a MUST HAVE SKILL for both turning and milling.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on machining equipment.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines at all times.
- Assist with assembly, welding, or other manufacturing processes as needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives including lean manufacturing practices.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and forklifts safely within the manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist (red seal) or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency in CNC programming, especially with Fanuc controls.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programs.
- Knowledge of machining processes including turning, milling, welding, and assembly.
- Familiarity with measurement tools like calipers and micrometers for quality inspection.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during machining operations.
- Ability to operate CNC lathe and CNC milling machines efficiently.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, forklift trucks, and other manufacturing equipment safely.
